STATESVILLE, NC–A former Iredell County teacher has been found guilty of sexually assaulting male students.
Jurors found John Patterson guilty Friday on charges involving students at the former Mount Mourne Elementary School.
He has been sentenced to life in prison for the first degree sex offense charges.
Patterson, 66, was arrested in February 2013 for inappropriately touching four male students at the elementary school in the 1980’s.
After more accusers came forward Patterson was arrested for a second time a month later and slapped with more than 100 sexual assault charges on at least 14 students dating all the way back to the 70’s.
