STATESVILLE,NC–A former Iredell county teacher has been found not guilty on nearly 100 sexual abuse charges.
Jurors found John Patterson not guilty Friday of charges involving students at the late Mount Mourne Elementary School.
John Thomas Patterson, 66, was arrested in February 2013 for being accused of inappropriately touching four male students at the elementary school in the 1980’s.
After more accusers came forward Patterson was arrested for a second time a month later and slapped with more than 100 sexual assault charges on at least 14 students dating all the way back to the 70’s.
Patterson was aquitted from all charges and found not guilty Friday.
