MATTHEWS, N.C. — Police are searching for a man who robbed a Matthews bank Thursday afternoon.Β
The robbery happened around 4 p.m. at the SunTrust bank on West John Street. Β Police say no one was injured during the robbery. Β
The masked man is accused of entering the bank, displaying a handgun and taking money from a teller. Β He was last seen running towards Irwin Lane and Main Street. Β
The suspect was wearing a dark grey Champion hoodie with an orange vest, blue jeans, white Nike shoes and sunglasses. Β Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call 911.
