Hikers Warned About Rattlesnakes on North Carolina Trails

CHARLOTTE, NC — Hikers in North Carolina are being warned by wildlife officials about rattlesnakes.

Officials say they are seeing more rattlesnakes in high traveled trails.The snakes will warn you by rattling their tails before they strike at you.

Joanne Willoughbly said ” There’s a high probability that it’s going to be what we call a dry bit, which they don’t even give venom, but they’re just using it as a defense mechanism.”

Seek medical attention to have a snake bite checked out thuroughly to know whether it is a dry bite or not.
