Panthers’ Greg Hardy On Trial For Assault Charges

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers’ Greg Hardy is facing a judge Tuesday in reference to his assault on a female and communicating threats charges.

The Panthers’ defensive end entered court Tuesday morning wearing a black suit, tie and dark sunglasses.

His ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, accused Hardy of throwing her to the floor and into a bathtub, strangling her, slamming her into a futon that was covered with guns, and treatening to shoot her if she told anyone about the firght.

Prosecutors called several witnesses to the stand Tuesday morning.  One witness claims she heard screaming, crying and a body slam.  However, she continued to say she only heard what happened and had a buzz after a night of drinking.

Prosecutors called Holder to the stand around 1 p.m.  Hardy’s weapons are currently being shown in the court room as evidence.

Hardy has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
