CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” Panthers Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy has been found guilty of assaulting a female and communicating threats. Mecklenburg County Judge Rebecca Thorn-Tin on Tuesday sentenced Hardy to 18 months’ probation. A 60-day jail sentence was suspended.

SUNSET, S.C. (AP) β€” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney says the Tigers won’t slow down, even without the two offensive stars that made them go in receiver Sammy Watkins and quarterback Tajh Boyd. Swinney says returning players from last year’s 11-2 team have a chip on their shoulders eager to prove that Clemson wasn’t simply a Boyd-to-Watkins combo the past three seasons.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) β€” South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier doesn’t necessarily sit in recruits’ living rooms emphasizing the chance to go 11-2. The Gamecocks have posted that record three years running, but have still been relegated to spectators for the Southeastern Conference championship game. Spurrier said Tuesday at SEC media days he pitches prospects on the shot at playing on South Carolina’s first league championship team.

SUNSET, S.C. (AP) β€” Longtime Clemson senior woman administrator Barbara Kennedy-Dixon is leaving her role for another spot in the athletic department. Clemson said Tuesday that Kennedy-Dixon will become special assistant to athletic director Dan Radakovich.
