Popular cellist Ben Sollee, who composed an original score for the ballet, performs live, suspended over the stage. The performance of Dangerous Liaisons opens with George Balanchine‘s The Four Temperaments. The ballet is one of Balanchine‘s earliest experimental works, fusing classical steps with a lean, angular style.
