Check her out ladies and gentlemen: fashion model Robyn Lawley, Australia’s answer to Kate Upton. Β She’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. Β But she’s probably not on the cover of fashion magazines you read, because of how the fashion world defines her. Β She is described as “plus-sized.”

And that says a lot about the way the world, especially America, views body image. Β Robyn Lawley certainly is “plus” in height at 6″2′, but it’s her dress size that’s interesting: size 12. Β At her height and build, a size 12 is “svelte.”

And to lay a little more insult on top of it, size 12 is the average American dress size. Β It’s actually somewhere between a 12 and a 14. Β Which means for most women who actually might be plus-sized, a size 12 model just doesn’t make any sense. Β Which is something our plus-size model actually agrees with.

In fact, she’s been posting un-retouched photos of herself on Facebook to show that beauty comes in all kinds of sizes. Β And while that’s admirable, plenty of people point out that it’s difficult to accept her message when she seems so… not-plus-sized.

And while our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, likes some junk in the trunk, it still seems like there’s something wrong with America’s perception of body image…
