CHARLOTTE, NC — A police officer grabbed by people inside a car and dragged along a Charlotte roadway. The officer is recovering from a leg injury, and five people inside that car have been arrested.
It happened Tuesday afternoon on West Sugar Creek road in northwest Charlotte. Officer Bradley Starnes managed to break free. A short time later, police made a felony traffic stop and detained the five people who were inside the car.
They were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Officer Starnes was helping another officer who had been flagged down by a woman who said the people inside the car had assaulted her.
