
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police charged two men with attempted murder after they allegedly dragged a CMPD officer from their car Tuesday in northwest Charlotte.
Chad and Maurice Clay are both facing attempted murder charges.
Investigators say the suspects were stopped in reference to an assault call and during the stop they grabbed the officer and drove off. The officer managed to free himself and the suspects were arrested a short time later.
The officer was released from a local hospital with a leg injury. The incident happened Tuesday afternoon on West Sugar Creek Road.
One other person inside the vehicle, Antoine Johnson, was arrested for an unrelated assault warrant.
