SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) β Panthers coach Ron Rivera says he doesn’t care if a player is drafted or not. He says the real question is can he play. The Panthers kept three undrafted players on the 53-man roster from last year’s rookie class including cornerback Melvin White, who wound up starting 10 games last season.
AKRON, Ohio (AP) β The PGA Tour is refuting a report that Dustin Johnson has been suspended. Johnson said in a statement Thursday he was taking a leave of absence to seek professional help for “personal challenges” that brought an end to his season.
LONG POND, Pa. (AP) β John Wes Townley will be held out of all racing this weekend following a hard crash yesterday at Pocono Raceway. Townley hit the wall hard during qualifying for the ARCA race and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. His Twitter feed said he would be held out of all competition for one week.
