Man on the Edge: Is Soccer for America?

Are these kinds of shenanigans in store for Charlotte?  The soccer hooligans of Europe have an international bad reputation, and as interest in soccer seems to swell, some of that bad attitude could be rubbing off here in the Queen City.

Tomorrow, right here in Charlotte, and right here on WCCB, two of the world’s most popular soccer teams are putting on an exhibition.  The match up between AC Milan and Liverpool is happening at Bank of America stadium at 6:30, and we’ll be live with a preview from there during WCCB News at 6.

And you might want to stay home to watch.  While this game is considered a “friendly” match up without anything at stake, people in Charlotte have shown that it’s so easy to get excited when it comes to soccer.  Remember the crowds from Hooligans going wild?  The video went viral, which was appropriate for the infectious nature of soccer-psychos.

And of course, we have our own issues with some sports fans going crazy.  But it’s usually after a major event like a division or national championship.  Soccer fans go crazy any game, anywhere, any time.
