CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Reid Sampson, 19, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Steel Creek Saturday just after 1:30 p.m.
Police and Medic responded to the single-vehicle-crash on Tyvola Road at Tyvola Centre Drive.
The teen was driving a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja when he lost control, applied the brake and slid into a curb. The motorcycle continued moving while scraping on the right side. Sampson was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a tree.
Sampson was pronounced dead on scene by Medic.
Police opened the road around 4:45 p.m. after cleaning up the scene.
