Maggie Daniels’ Murder Suspect Faced Judge Monday Morning

NEWTON, N.C. — The man police arrested for the murder of Maggie Daniels faced a judge Monday morning.  Sharman Odom entered the court room wearing a black and white jumpsuit and handcuffs.

He was given a court appointed attorney.  A judge read Odom his charges and told him he has the possibility of facing the death penalty or getting life in prison if he is found guilty.

Odom was arrested Saturday in Winston-Salem and charged with first degree murder.  He was Daniels’ neighbor.  Daniels was found dead in her apartment on June 28th.

Police still have not released the cause of her death.
