Remount Road To Close For Five Weeks

 CHARLOTTE, N.C. — All lanes of Remount Road will be closed from the 2020 block to 2501 starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday to improve the drainage system.

The road will be closed both north and south bound and will reopen September 12. The Brentwood Place Storm Drainage Improvement includes widening the drainage pipe to 72-inches. 

Signed detours will be posted using West Boulevard, Old Steele Creek Road and Wilkinson Boulevard. Interstate 77 South to exit 9A, West Boulevard and I-77 North to exit 9C, Wilkinson Boulevard will also be detours. 

CATS will not be affected by the closure. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will not be majorly affected but should be cautious and pay attention to detour signage.
