CONCORD, N.C. — Police say the woman who showed up at a hospital in Concord with a newborn made up the story that she found the baby at a local restaurant.
Police say the 21-year-old woman admitted she delivered the child earlier in the day at her home.
She originally told police she found the newborn at a McDonald’s in Kannapolis. After police checked surveillance video they realized a baby was never left at the fast food chain.
The child is expected to be okay. No word on charges at this time.
