
UPDATE: Β Police say the driver of the Ford Taurus in this wreck was seen driving erratically on Kilborne Drive shortly before the head-on collision. Β
An officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver refused and accelerated away from the officer’s patrol car. Β
The officer immediately stopped his pursuit of the car. Β A short time later the officer saw the driver of the Ford cross a double-yellow line and hit the other vehicle head-on. Β
No charges have been filed at this time but the wreck is still under investigation. Β Police are also reviewing the officers actions to make sure all department policies and procedures were followed. Β
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries after a head-on collision on Kilborne Drive near Sudberry Road around 2 p.m. Sunday.
It took 22 firefighters nearly 30 minutes to rescue and pull the drivers from their cars.Β
One car was a Ford Taurus and police believe the other car was a Nissan but say it was hard to tell with the damage.Β
No names or charges have been released.Β
