East Charlotte Associate Minister Facing Additional Sex Charges Involving Children

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged an east Charlotte associate minister with more than two dozen additional sex charges.  

Orlando Caldera was taking into custody at Memorial United Methodist Church on Central Avenue on August 4th after a woman claimed he sexually assaulted two children.  

After being interviewed by detectives, Caldera was charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.  

After the initial investigation, police determined there were more potential victims.  Now, police have charged Caldera with an additional 26 felony charges.  

Police say he assaulted a total of seven victims who range from six to 10 years of age.  Detectives say they are continuing to try to identify any additional victims.
