CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police responded to a deadly motorcycle crash that killed 41-year-old Jamie Szot on the 6900 block of Highland Creek Parkway just after 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say it appears that alcohol and speed were a contributing factor when Szot struck a tree and traveled down the embankment.
Medic pronounced Szot dead on the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
Police spoke with witnesses and are still investigating the crash.
