ATLANTA, GA — The husband of Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol is talking about her battle with the ebola virus. Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly are being treated for Ebola at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
David Writebol returned from Liberia Sunday night. He is under quarantine on SIM’s campus in south Charlotte. He talked about his wife’s condition through Skype.
“Each time I talk to her I get a sense her voice is clearer and brighter, so I’m imagining that she’s getting stronger, and she tells me that she is feeling better and getting stronger. Still very weak,” he said.
David Writebol and two SIM doctors are under quarantine for 21 days, which is the longest incubation period for Ebola. Health officials say they are not sick and not showing any symptoms. The ebola virus has claimed more than a thousand lives in west Africa. It spreads through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids.
