UNDATED (AP) β Baseball now has three 15-game winners. Adam Wainwright of St. Louis and Milwaukee’s Wily Peralta (WIH’-lee peh-RAHL’-tah) joined Cincinnati’s Johnny Cueto (KWAY’-toh) with 15 victories yesterday. The Cardinals beat the Padres 7-6 while the Brewers stopped the Dodgers 7-2.
WASHINGTON (AP) β Johnny Manziel (man-ZEHL’) has another chance tonight to prove to the Cleveland Browns that he should be their starting quarterback. Manziel and Brian Hoyer, the man he is battling for the starting job, are in Washington with the rest of the Browns for an exhibition game tonight. The Browns hope to name their regular season starting signal caller tomorrow.

Defending national champion Florida State was placed No. 1 by the media panel with Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma and Ohio State rounding out the top-five. The Seminoles received 57 of the 60 first-place votes in the media balloting.
