NEWTON, N.C. — The man accused of murdering a school counselor in Newton has been indicted. Β
The District Attorney’s Office says Sharman Odom has been indicted for murder, first degree sexual offense and first degree kidnapping. Β
Police plan to release more information on the case this afternoon in reference to the addition of the sexual offense and kidnapping charges.
Police say Odom murdered Maggie Daniels inside her apartment in June. Β Odom is currently in the Catawba County Detention Facility with no bond. Β
