
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Deputies have charged a murder victim’s brother after a fight broke out inside a Mecklenburg County courtroom.
Officials say the brother of Bias Easley was attending the court appearance for murder suspect Raphael White. White is accused of shooting and killing Easley, a North Carolina corrections officer, in east Charlotte in June.
White’s brother, Trevor White, who has been charged with accessory after the fact in reference to the case was in the courtroom to support his brother. Officials say Easley’s brother punched Trevor White when he realized he was in attendance.
The courtroom was immediately evacuated and Easley’s brother was taken into custody and will be charged with assault. His name has not been released at this time.
White was not given a bond during his court hearing.
