New Ebola Treatment Facility Opens in Liberia

Β ATLANTA, GA — Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol is gaining strength as she battles the ebola virus. Β Her husband David has been able to visit with her through a window at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Β 

David Writebol’s quarantine at the SIM campus in south Charlotte ended on Sunday. Β Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly are receiving an experimental drug.

Three Liberian doctors who have received the same drug are also showing signs of improvement. Β  There’s a new facility in Liberia to treat people infected with Ebola. Β The virus has claimed more than 1,100 lives in west Africa this year. Β It is spread through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids.
