ROCK HILL, SC — A company in Rock Hill upped the Ice Bucket Challenge ante Tuesday afternoon by gathering about 100 employees and donating $100 per employee to fight ALS.
The staff at Physicians Choice Laboratory Services challenged South Carolina Representative Mick Mulvaney to take the Ice Bucket Challenge next. The company’s president says he’ll donate $100 to the ALS Association on behalf of any other staff member who completes the challenge in the next 24 hours.
“It’s very refreshing on a hot day like today, so I’m loving it!” said PCLS employee Solei Dyment.
To date, the the ALS Association says it has gotten $22.9 million in donations, compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year.
