Β ROCK HILL, SC —Β A company in Rock Hill upped the Ice Bucket Challenge ante Tuesday afternoon by gathering about 100 employees and donating $100 per employee to fight ALS.
The staff at Physicians Choice Laboratory Services challenged South Carolina Representative Mick Mulvaney to take the Ice Bucket Challenge next. Β The company’s president says he’ll donate $100 to the ALS Association on behalf of any other staff member who completes the challenge in the next 24 hours.
“It’s very refreshing on a hot day like today, so I’m loving it!” said PCLS employee Solei Dyment.
To date, the the ALS Association says it has gotten $22.9 million in donations, compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year.
