BOSTON (AP)β€” The Seattle Mariners shocked Boston with five runs in the ninth inning to hand the last-place Red Sox their sixth straight loss, 5-3. Austin Jackson’s bases-loaded double with two outs in the ninth keyed the five-run rally as Seattle ended a nine-game losing streak at Fenway Park.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) β€” The Philadelphia Phillies nipped St. Louis 5-4 as Cards pitcher Adam Wainwright’s August struggles continued. Wainwright failed in his bid to become the majors’ first 16-game winning, giving up five runs in six innings, dropping to 15-8 overall and 2-3 this month.
