CHARLOTTE, N.C. — President Obama is coming to the queen city next week. The White House confirms he will speak Tuesday at the American Legion Convention in Uptown.

More than nine-thousand veterans and their families are expected at the 96th annual convention. Senator Kay Hagan wants the president to address the problems veterans face, including those with VA hospitals across the country.

The American Legion is a watchdog and advocate for veterans.

The White House has not released specifics on President Obama’s visit. This is his first trip to our area since he brought his middle class jobs and opportunity tour to Mooresville Middle School last summer.
