CHARLOTTE,NC — President Obama is coming to Charlotte next week.  The White House confirms he will speak Tuesday at the American Legion Convention in uptown Charlotte.

More than 9,000 veterans and their families are expected at the 96th Annual Convention.  Congresswoman Kay Hagan wants Obama to address the problems veterans face, including those with VA hospitals across the country.  The American Legion is a watchdog and advocate for veterans.

“No matter what your war order is, we have your back.  I mean, helping veterans, that’s our charge in life, to help the veterans and families, and especially the widows and orphans if that’s the case,” said American Legion National Commander Dan Dellinger.

The White House has not released specifics on President Obama’s visit.  This is his first trip to our area since he brought his Middle Class Jobs & Opportunity tour to Mooresville Middle School last summer.
