BELMONT, N.C. — Officials say a Belmont Abbey soccer player died after collapsing at practice.
Freshman Michael McGuire collapsed after practicing for approximately 20 minutes on August 16th. School officials say he died Friday.
Hospital officials have not released a cause of death at this time. The practice was being monitored by an athletic trainer and water was available for all players.
