CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Social media is buzzing about a possible attack on SouthPark Mall by Islamic Military Group ISIS after seeing a suspicious tweet.

The FBI and CMPD are speaking out about the article titled, “Isis Terrorism Supporter Threatens To Suicide Bomb A Shopping Mall.” One tweet from the account @DrA12325665 mentions SouthPark being the largest mall in Charlotte.

The FBI sent WCCB this statement in regards to the possible ISIS threat on SouthPark Mall:Β

“The FBI is unaware of any specific, credible threats to the U.S. or the Charlotte area at this time. Β The FBI works around the clock with our partners in the law enforcement community to share and assess information. Β As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to your local police or the FBI.”
