CHARLOTTE, NC — A former east Charlotte pastor is facing two new child sex charges. That brings the total number of felonies Orlando Caldera faces to 30.
The charges involve five girls between the ages of 6 and 10 years old. Caldera’s name has been removed from the sign at Memorial United Methodist Church on Central Avenue. The girls told police the assistant minister gave them candy and gifts to gain their trust.
Caldera worked at the church for about 10 years.
