PHILADELPHIA (AP) β City officials plan to honor the Taney Dragons’ appearance in the Little League World Series with a parade through Philadelphia.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Center City, and the team will be taken by float to a park in south Philadelphia about four miles away. A rally is scheduled there to honor them.
The parade will feature performances by the Philly POPS and the Mummers.
Following the parade, the Philadelphia Phillies plan to hold a pre-game tribute for the team at Citizens Bank Park.
The Taney Dragons represented the mid-Atlantic region in the series. They were led by 13-year-old Mo’ne Davis, who became the first female pitcher to win a game in series’ history.
