LITTLETON, CO — Caught on live stream, a Colorado SWAT team bursts into a video game office for nothing. The 911 call turned out to be a hoax, a dangerous prank called “swatting”. Buildings were evacuated and schools went on lock-down during the incident. Investigators are trying to track down the person who made the call.
“These ‘swatters’, if you will, are using various methods, however, they do leave evidence behind,” said Lakewood Police Detective Ryan McCone.
The Lakewood Police have had six “swatting” calls since June. Dispatchers say they’re getting better at figuring out which calls are fake.
