SEATTLE (AP) β€” Are you ready for some football? Some NFL style football? With tonight’s Green Bay at Seattle game the National Football League kicks off a new season of play. A year ago the Seahawks won the NFL Championship with a final record of 16-3 while the Packers were 8-8-1.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” It’s a light day of play at the U.S. Open as the tournament starts to wind down. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” Sponsorship of NASCAR’s second-tier of racing will no longer be named for Nationwide Insurance. Comcast Corp. has signed a 10-year agreement to replace Nationwide as the title sponsor of the circuit. The series will be known as the NASCAR Xfinity Series through 2024. Sports Business Daily has valued the package at close to $200 million.
