Statesville Murder Suspect Found Hiding Under Bed

STATESVILLE, N.C.– Troyshawn Nicolas Williams is in custody after police say an altercation led to the fatal shooting of Keith Levan Keaton Jr. just after 12 a.m. Friday.

Officers responded to 218 Chambers St. and found Keaton with a gunshot wound in his chest. He was taken by EMS to Iredell Memorial Hospital where he later died.Β 

Investigators say that the two got into an argument earlier Thursday night and Williams left the residence. They say Williams returned and that’s when he shot Keaton.

Investigators issued a murder warrant for the arrest of Williams and located him at an apartment on Simonton Road hiding under the bed. Williams was arrested without incident and taken to the Statesville Police Department at 6 a.m. Friday.Β
