Edge on Demand: Soon We’ll All Read Each Other’s Minds

Call it “technological telepathy.”  a team of neuroscientists claims to have succeeded in sending the thoughts of one person to another person 5,000 miles away.  They were just one word thoughts, but still!  The process is too complicated to explain, but involved some sensors on the heads of both participants, the Internet, and a kind of Morse code.  The short and sweet is: we’ve sent a message in brain waves from one person to another.

Which means it could just be a matter of time before the process is refined, and we’re all reading each other’s thoughts.  It would be one thing for you to read other people’s minds, but with this technology, they could read yours, too.

So what do you think the world would be like if we could read each other’s minds?
