UPDATE: Β Police say one of the children that was injured in a wreck on Independence Boulevard has died. Β Officials say three-year-old Isaac Rowell died Tuesday afternoon. Β
His mother was also killed in the wreck. Β Another child is still in the hospital with serious injuries. Β Police say they are seeking an additional warrant charging Kam Caw with another count of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Β He was allegedly fatigued when the crash happened. Β
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged the driver of a vehicle who apparently was fatigued when he veered across a busy highway and struck a car at a stop sign, killing a woman and seriously injuring her children. Β
Investigators say Kam Caw was traveling in the left lane of Independence Boulevard Monday morning when he suddenly veered across all four lanes and struck a Volvo that was sitting at a stop sign on Fugate Avenue. Β
The woman in the Volvo, Silje Grayston, was killed and her two children were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Β
Police say their initial findings suggest Caw was fatigued. Β He was been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle. Β
