Fourth Ebola Patient Returns to U.S.

ATLANTA, GA — A fourth Ebola patient is being flown from West Africa to the United States for treatment. Β The person will arrive in Atlanta in the morning and will be treated at Emory University Hospital. Β Officials are not releasing any other details, citing patient confidentiality. Β 

Emory is the same hospital where Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly were treated.

A doctor with ties to Charlotte who is also infected with the ebola virus is showing improvement. Β Dr. Rick Sacra is being treated at the Nebraska Medical Center. Β Sacra joined Charlotte-based SIM USA in the 1980s. Β He contracted Ebola while delivering babies at a hospital in Monrovia. Β 

The virus has killed more than 2,100 people this year.
