The Impact of Sleep on Memory: A Workshop for Caregivers

Sleep has an important role in stabilizing and protecting memory and in learning specialized skills. Lack of sleep impairs a person‘s ability to focus and learn efficiently. In this free workshop especially for caregivers from The Ivey Memory Wellness Day Center, learn about the science behind sleep and the impact of sleep in making memories “stick” so they can be recalled. Discover how to get a better night’s sleep and see your memory improve. Get tips for helping your loved one with Alzheimer‘s or dementia sleep better, too. Presented by Dr. Kenneth Weeks, Jr., cardiologist and researcher, Novant Health Sleep. Choose from two times: 2-4 pm or 6-8 pm. RSVP requested, 704/909-2070. Care for your loved one is available during the presentation with advance notice.
