Β WASHINGTON, D.C. — Wednesday, President Obama will share his plan to deal with ISIS with the entire country. Β The President met with Congressional leaders Tuesday. Β He is asking leaders for their support, but says he doesn’t need their approval. Β
The plan includes air strikes already underway and strengthening the Iraqi government. Β Republican leaders say they’re not convinced the President is prepared.
“It’s his responsibility to come up with a plan for dealing with this, and I think it is to his advantage and the country’s advantage to have Congress buy into that,” said Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
The public address comes exactly a year after the President addressed Syria’s use of chemical weapons. Β In the current conflict the President has reiterated the plan will not include boots on the ground.
