CHARLOTTE, NC — As Ray Rice’s wife defends him on social media, there’s more fallout from that video showing Rice punching her in an elevator. Nike has now severed its endorsement deal with Rice, and EA Sports has pulled him from Madden NFL 15. The Baltimore Ravens fired Rice Monday. And the NFL suspended him indefinitely after TMZ posted video of the punch Monday. It happened in Atlantic City back in February.
Janay Rice lashed out at the media Tuesday on her Instagram account, saying, “To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing.” She goes on to say, “To take something away from the man I love that has worked his (rear end) off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.”
Back in July after the first video went viral, Janay Rice apologized for her part in the incident. “I do deeply regret the role I played in the incident that night, but I can say that I am happy that we continue to work through it together,” she said.
