MOORESVILLE, NC — WCCB has learned police in Mooresville are investigating a popular middle school coach’s abrupt resignation. The school district says Mooresville Middle football coach and PE teacher Chip Pickard resigned Tuesday, one day after school officials reported possible misconduct to police.
“Mr. Pickard gave us his resignation on Tuesday, September 9th,” announced Tanae McLean of the Mooresville Graded School District on Wednesday. “Our board accepted that resignation last night, and he is no longer employed with Mooresville Graded School District.”
Police are looking into the accusations to see if there was any criminal activity. We will keep you updated as this story develops.
