CMC Reopens After Finding Suspicious Package

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD’s Bomb Squad responded to CMC for a suspicious package around 9 p.m. Thursday near the entrance of the Children’s Emergency room. 

Security for the hospital at 1000 Blythe Avenue called 911 after finding the item. Everyone was evacuated from the room and diverted to Presbyterian Hospital. 

Bomb Squad technicians determined that there was no threat to public safety after investigating the package. CMC was reopened before midnight.

There were no injuries during the incident.
