Off-Duty CMPD Officer Injured While Directing Traffic

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  — An off-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer is expected to be okay after he was struck by a vehicle in west Charlotte. The accident happened around 8:12 p.m. in the 2400 block of Barringer Drive. Police say the officer was directing traffic when a SUV hit him. The driver of the car is cooperating with authorities.

The officer was transported to Novant Health with non-life threatening injuries.
