
DAVIDSON, N.C. – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer has been charged with assault on a female and communicating threats, both misdemeanors.
Davidson Police arrested CMPD Officer Hassan Peterson at 11:49PM Friday after the incident occured at a residence on Summers Walk Boulevard.
Peterson has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation by the Internal Affairs Bureau.
34-year-old Peterson, a Matthews resident, is currently a Juvenile Crime Officer in the University City Division. He was previously a Community Coordinator for the same division and was hired by CMPD on July 25, 2001.
Arrest information shows Peterson is 5’9″ and 222 lbs. He was released on $20,000 unsecured bond. WCCB is working to obtain the police report associated with Peterson’s arrest. We are also working to find out what disciplinary actions, if any, CMPD will take against Peterson.
Peterson is scheduled to appear in court on November 7.
