HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A tractor trailer driver was killed in an accident on I-77 SB near Westmoreland Rd bridge just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Fire and rescue crews from Huntersville FD, Cornelius FD, North Meck Rescue and Davidson Fire Department responded to the accident. The tractor trailer was in the woods with extensive damage to the cab, officials say.
Crews used chainsaws and hydraulic tools to gain access to the cab by 4 a.m. and found the driver dead inside.
