The Southern Piedmont Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (SPC-NFBPA) will honor several leaders in public administration with the 2014 Marks of Excellence Gala on October 4, 2014. The event will commence at 7:00pm at the Embassy Suites Golf Resort & Spa located at 5400 John Q. Hammons Dr. NW Concord, NC. This is the chapterβs signature event in which they recognize outstanding leadership in the field of public administration and the Charlotte community while also awarding scholarships to undergraduate and graduate level students pursuing a career in public administration. The organization will also honor past NFBPA National President and former County Manager Harry Jones. This yearβs Marks of Excellence Gala features a keynote address from Verdenia C. Baker, the current National President for NFBPA. The evening will also include dinner and entertainment from vocalist Tenya Coleman.
