GASTONIA, N.C. — Three people escaped after starting a fire in the fireplace of their home on Davis Park Road Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the home just after 2 a.m. and were able to control the fire in 10 minutes.
Investigators say the fire spread to a wall near the fireplace and caused an estimated $10,000 in damages.
No one was injured.
