UPDATE: Police say the victim has been identified as 77-year-old Charles Lee Neal.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was hit in the head with a brick and killed on the 4700 block of Dawnalia Drive just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday, police say.
The man’s nephew was taken into custody as a suspect after police say he tried to pour gasoline on his uncle.
An officer was able to stop the assault and pouring of gas but Medic pronounced the man dead.
A person of interest is also in custody.
A neighbor says they believe teh nephew has some type of mental disorder.
Officials are investigating and looking for any witnesses. The victim’s name has not been released.
