CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya. Β The Panthers have been stretched thin at the running back position after DeAngelo Williams suffered a sprained ankle in the Ravens game. Β
Full back Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart are both injured and not expected to play in Week 5. Β
Ogbonnaya played the last three seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Β He did not make the final roster this season and was currently a free agent. Β
Last year, he averaged 4.9 yards per carry on 49 attempts. Β The Panthers play the Chicago Bears this Sunday in Charlotte. Β
